10-year-old girl killed, 2 admitted to the hospital after Tree fell to the house in the southwest of Atlanta

Atlanta, Ga. (Atlanta News first) – a child was killed and two of her family members were sent to the hospital after a large tree fell into a house in the Mozley Park district overnight.

Around 3 a.m., the Ostlanta fire departments were called into the house in the 1400 Block of Mims Street SW, where they found that the tree halved and falling on the house. The 10 -year -old Erica Dixon was killed for impact.

Dixon's mother and grandmother were hospitalized and are in a stable state.

According to Anaré Holmes Anaré Holmes, six people were at home. The others could escape without injury.

“This is a sad opportunity. It is a tragedy,” said Holmes. “There is no other way to say it.”

The crews are currently working on removing the rest of the tree, and the red cross and other support services were appointed to help the family.
