Thunderbolts* Director explains the decision behind it [SPOILER]'S “cold -blooded” death

When marketing for Thunderbolts* started to kick, it became pretty clear that it became pretty clear Black widow Badthie Antonia Dreykov, also known as TaskMaster (Olga Kurylenko), was almost as much presented in the various trailers, promos and TV spots as their teammates.

The fans began to speculate that the character would be killed, what Marvel All-But confirmed when it became known that every other main actor would be back alongside Kurylenko Avengers: Doomsday.

There were theories that this could be a kind of deliberate evasive to keep a certain point of action in relation to TaskMaster under lock and key, but no, Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Dreykov takes out a head shot less than five minutes after her introduction.

Although Thunderbolts* has a lot together with DC's Suicide squad With regard to the general premise and the facility, it is really no film “not too connected”, so the decision to kill the task master was considered a bit of head scratcher.

While speaking with EWThe director Jake Schreier confirmed that the death of the task master was a late addition to the script – something that Kurylenko indicated in the past.

“When we got out of the strike, we wanted to be about to shoot and we were closed and we gave us some time to step back from the film. And when we all came back into the room when the strike was over and we thought about how we should improve it, it really felt like the film seemed only a little bloodless.”

Although it was never about making the film R-Rated, Schrier still wanted to give history an advantage early on.

“Because who these characters are, should it do the films who are aware of them, in which they really don't know who will survive.” The filmmaker continues. “I know that this is difficult these days in which things come out of films, but in the context of the film it felt like we had to make such a swing so that they didn't really know who would make it, and it was also clear that anyone of them could have been.”

What the character was killed so quickly and did not achieve a more ceremonial sending in the last act believes that this would have “entered” the main focus of history.

“The decision to do it when we did it, we went through many different versions of it and we thought about it very carefully.” The director explains. “And it felt like it was very nice – and Olga is a wonderful actress – that you have longer to have a team in a team that death had much harder and would have made it more difficult to find our sound balance if it had happened later in the film.”

He continues “And it would have used a kind of emotional space that would have stepped on what we really have to build. And we have so few narrative properties that is the connection between Yelena and Bob [Lewis Pullman]And the film will really depend on it. And to keep our tone and build this team together, it actually felt best, even if it feels a little cold -blooded to achieve it early. “

After these disillusioned casts have been classified in a death trap defined by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, they have to start a dangerous mission that will force them to face the darkest corners of their past. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart or find salvation and combine themselves as a little more before it is too late?

Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbor, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen and Julia Louis-Dreyfus back to their roles of the Marvel Cinematic University. The line -up also includes newcomers to the MCU – Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer and Wendell Edward Pierce.
