The 38-year-old apparently tried in front of the bank on Saturday morning, the police reported. The explosion damaged several shop fronts and vehicles.

“It seems that she was wearing an explosive device and planned to plant it on the ATM of a bank,” a high -ranking police officer told Reuters.

“Something went wrong and exploded in her hands,” added the official. A criminal investigation is underway.

According to Associated Press, the woman was known for her participation in previous robberies. According to the authorities, the agency added to extremist left -wing groups.

The explosion takes place less than a month after a bomb in front of the offices of the Hellenic train in Athens was exploded.

The police cordoned off the area after two Greek media organizations received warning calls that an explosive device would end within 35 minutes, said police officers at this time. A suspicious -looking bag was discovered in front of the evacuated building.
