The chairman of BBC calls on Huw Edwards to repay the six -digit content after scandal TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

BBC chairman Dr. Samir Shah has demanded that Huw Edwards pay back his six -digit salary, although he has not been on television screens since the summer of 2023. The former BBC news anchor resigned from the BBC after 40 years in April 2024, and his final program took place during a report in Edinburgh on July 5, 2023. He recently guilty of three cases to take indecent pictures of children. The 63-year-old was one of the best paid moderators of the BBC and was earned in the 2023-24 financial year between 475,000 and 479,999 GBP. The BBC confirmed that Edwards was not paid for on his departure.

Dr. Samir Shah asked Times radio to return the 200,000 pounds after a listener sent a message in which she said: “Will you get this 200,000 pound back?”

Dr. Samir said: “Well, we asked him and asked him and asked. Honestly, if Huw listened, give it back. Just give back. Really, just give it back.”

Huw was arrested by the Metropolitan Police in London in November 2023 and charged on Wednesday, June 26th last summer. The police said that the alleged crimes took place between December 2020 and April 2022.

Cultural secretary Lisa Nandy had also asked Edwards to return his salary after he had guilty.

She said: “I think he should give back his salary. After being arrested in November for such serious charges, he was arrested in November to continue to receive this salary until it has resigned, and it is not good if most people in the country have good use of taxpayers.
