Red Sox delivers an alarming diagnosis for Triston Casas after an injury at the end of the season

The Boston Red Sox put Triston Casas on the 10-day injury list on Saturday, but his season is almost certainly over.

Casas has a broken patellar tendon in the left knee, which runs out the result of a freak injury on Friday against the Minnesota twins from a floor ball. Craig Breslow, Chief Baseball Officer, said reporters that Casas has to be operated on, which probably means that he will need six months or more to get back into the plot. Only five months remain in the regular season.

The Red Sox did not offer a specific schedule for Casas to return, but the story indicates that his recovery will be long.
