The crews of the public work were sent to clean storm processes to mitigate floods, the city said in a release.

All public buildings of the Minneapolis Park and the Recreation Board were also closed at 2 p.m. and all programs and activities were canceled, said officials.

The National Weather Service reported that residents of Twin Cities and those in Albert Lea, Rochester, Red Wing, Fairmont and Mankato have plans in the event that they should have protection on Monday.
