Man gets more than six years in prison for sex crimes for children

The Ministry of Justice of the United States announced on Monday that a man out of Syracus was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for distribution, transport and possession of child pornography.

From September 2023 to February 2024, 46-year-old Paul Mignacca has uploaded several videos of children's sexual abuse to his own personal report and a chat from the social media group that is devoted to the sharing of child pornography, said the Ministry of Justice.

Mignacca was arrested in April 2024 by the Albany Division Child Exploitation and Human Task Force, the Sheriff office of the district onondaga and the New York state police from the FBI division.

The digital forensics revealed that Mignacca had over 3,400 files with child pornography.

Apart from his prison sentence, Mignacca is also instructed to serve 10 years of supervision, to pay 60,000 US dollars of reimbursement fees to the victims and to give up electronic devices that are used to inspect the crimes.

Mignacca also has to register as a sex offender.
