Two men who were arrested after a fatal accident by Golden Valley; Drivers charged with murder

A tragic collision with two vehicles early Friday morning in Golden Valley led to the death of a local woman and to the arrest of two men, one of whom is exposed to a suspicion of murder.

Mohave County's office reported that the MPs reported on the crash at the intersection of W. Shinarump Dr. and S. Apache Rd .. around 6:12 a.m.

Marian Merk, 61, from Golden Valley, was captured in her vehicle and declared dead at the crime scene.

The investigators found that a Chevrolet pickup that drove to the east at high speeds collided the center line and with Merk's Hyundai SUV. The inmates of the truck fled into the desert on foot.

A comprehensive search for the Department of Public Security in Arizona led to the arrest of Brandon James Tosh, 30, from Kingman, who hid under a bush.

Tosh, which was identified as a passenger of the truck, was arrested for unordered behavior and attack due to extraordinary arrest warrants.

According to McSO, he was later accused of hindering law enforcement after he had given the law enforcement false information.

The driver, Maximiliano Chavez Jr., 29, also by Kingman, was arrested the next morning after he approached a resident and had admitted to water.

Chavez confessed to accelerate over 70 miles per hour and to flee from the scene after seeing Merk's condition.

He was charged with the second degree murder, a crime of class 1 crime and after receiving medical approval for minor injuries to the Mohaven County prison.

The investigation continues when the authorities put together the events that lead to a fatal collision.
