Wrexham chief 'stands before grilling in parliament' after disqualification scandal | Football | sport

The director of Wrexham, Shaun Harvey, could be exposed to a parliamentary committee in 2017 because of his participation in Dai Yongges. The 55-year-old, one of the masterminds behind the success of the Welsh Club, was CEO of the EFL, when the Chinese Milliardair Yongge was confirmed as the new owner of Reading as the new owner of Reading eight years ago.

Yongges turbulent term at the reading is finally discontinued weeks after the exclusion of the owners of the EFL and the directors of the directors and a period of May 8 for the sale of the club. The Berkshire -Outfit suffered from financial problems during its ownership and deducted a total of 18 points since 2021. The former owner of Wycombe Wanderers, Rob Couhig, has now concluded an agreement on a purchase of Yongge.

According to the Times, the Premier League warned the EFL to enable Yongge 2017 to have control over reading. The league caused concerns about Yongge's behavior when he tried to buy Hull City when the tigers were in the frontrunner.

The Premier League is said to have even suggested that you would disqualify Yongge from owning reading if you earn a promotion from the championship. On the same day on which his takeover was completed, the Royals lost the play-off final against Huddersfield.

The bosses of the Premier League may have a contribution to potential takeovers of EFL clubs that could play in their division. However, the then EFL CEO Harvey and the board allowed Yongge to take place because there was “no disqualification condition”.

The Labor MP Yuan Yang, one of the strongest supporters of the parliament of an independent regulatory authority for football (IRF), has now suggested that an investigation into the history of Reading could be called up because Yongge has received control over the club. In view of the fact that Harvey was CEO of the EFL at the time, the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) can be interested in hearing his account.

When asked, in which she was asked directly whether Harvey could be suspended, Yang said: “I asked for an investigation into parliament in the entire history under Dai Yongge.

“I'm talking to a DCMS committee about what we can do. I am sure that you will be able to take actions into account. I want there to be an appropriate request for what is going on.”

Harvey, a star of the greeting at Wrexham Netflix documentary, was the key to the success of the Welsh club under the possession of Hollywood A-Lister Rob Mcelhenney and Ryan Reynolds. Wrexham secured a game for the championship.

Mcelhenney and Reynolds bought Wrexham in 2020 for £ 2 million. Since then, the actors have pumped millions more into a remarkable project in which three consecutive advertising campaigns were pursued.
