A man was killed on Saturday after an MBTA commuter train hit his vehicle, while according to the local authorities in Beachwood Street Crossing in Cohasset.

The chief of police at Cohaset, William Quigley, said a call had come a vehicle at around 11:20 a.m. Shortly before the call was immersed, the MBTA said that Greenbush Line train would end the service in North Scitate for police activities.

Quigley said that the equipment of the intersection was properly worked, but that the intersection was in a “No Whistle zone”, an area in which trains do not sound at certain intersections.

“The trains on the Greenbush line do not use the horn unless you see something on the right of way, so that the examination will also be part of the examination. As you can probably hear in the background, the bells and lights work, the goals work properly,” said Quigley.

Quigley said there were about 40 people on the train.

“The train will always win, and even if the goals have run, I still see. I slow down and look. There is a fairly clear view here. But unfortunately that didn't happen today,” Quigley told reporters.

The local authorities did not identify the late man.

Quigley said that there have been four deaths in Cohasset in the past four years because vehicles and trains collide, two of which took place last month.
