NBC announces the return of 'Roundball Rock' Tietied to his NBA reporting

When NBC returned part of the NBA media law package in July after more than two decades in July, speculation immediately began to suppress the fate of one of the most popular television broadcasters in sport.

The network brought this speculation to rest on Saturday. NBC will use “Roundball Rock” -a snappy John Tash instrumental, which is still widespread with the NBA, for NBA reporting from autumn 2025.

“I feel really honored to be back with my friends at NBC Sports,” said Tash in an NBC publication. “From our first meeting (NBC Sports Head) Rick Cordella had a strong vision to bring 'Roundball Rock' back to his only true home. Together with millions of other fans, I will be in the first Row Center for the epic start in autumn.”

NBC introduced “Roundball Rock” with a promo with NBA players, legends and various universal properties that sing along to the song – and takes into account with Tash in an arena.

The first NBA game at NBC will be the first since 2002 of the network.
