Baltimore Orioles Top Pitching view dominates at the rehabilitation injury start

Chayce McDermott only got a foretaste of the majors when he made his debut with the Baltimore Orioles last season.

The O called him to make his debut on July 24th to start a little pinch. He went four innings and gave five goals, three deserved runs and two walks while he was three. Immediately afterwards, the Orioles sent him back to Triple-A Norfolk.

He clearly had what it takes to be a major League pitcher. But the Orioles did not need it consistently at that time.

Now Baltimore could certainly use him. But as it seems with many options in the rotation of the Orioles, he is injured.

Before the opening day, the O-Lat pollution brought him to the 15-day injured list. It can be a problematic injury to jugs. He made the rehabilitation rounds. Last week he threw 1.2 innings for Double-A Chesapeake in his return to the hill.

Baltimore immediately promoted him to Norfolk to continue his rehab and he made a big leap forward.

He threw four innings against Charlotte. He allowed a hit, no runs, a walk and struck three.

It is a great message to send to the Orioles Leadership, since the 26-year-old right-handed may get closer to a beaten starting.

Together with McDermott, the Orioles have the starters Zack Eflin, Grayson Rodriguez, Trevor Rogers and Cody on the 15-day injury list. Kyle Bradish, Tyler Wells and Albert Suarez are on the 60-day il.

What happens to McDermott when he is ready to go remains unclear. MLB.com reports that he could be a potential for the activation of May. But he probably needs more to be ready for a return.

MLB Pipeline has McDermott as number 4 of Orioles No. 4 and Top Pitcher. He has just been promoted to Baltimore behind Samuel Basallo, Coby Mayo and Enrique Bradfield Jr. Mayo and joined the team this weekend.

McDermott is not a native Orioles view. In the fourth round, he was pulled out of the Ball State by the Houston Astros in 2021. After he had fallen an ERA of 2.09 in his first short season in the Astros system in 2021, he went 6: 1 in 19 in 2022 in 19.
