Suspect in the Malibu crash in which 4 students were killed to put murder in court

A 23-year-old man from Malibu, California, was instructed by a judge this week to stand on trial after an accident a year and a half ago for murder and vehicle skytail, in which four Pepperdine students were fatal.

Fraser Bohm allegedly drove between 93 and 104 miles per hour in a zone of 45 miles per hour when he crashed on the Pacific Coast Highway on October 17, 2023, the prosecutors said and supported this on the “Black Box of his BMW” according to FOX 11.

Niamh Rolston, 20, Peyton Stewart, 21, Asha Weir (21) and Deslyn Williams (21), which were all sisters of the sisterhood, were killed in the crash.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. when Bohm allegedly accelerated on part of the Pacific Coast Highway, which was known as “Dead Man's Curve”.

Witnesses provided contradictory reports about Bohms before crashing, the station reported.

Bohm's lawyer, Michael Kraut from the Kraut Law Group, told Fox News Digital that he had worked as a prosecutor for 15 years and never saw that a case like this “in which the person was condemned for murder and I was in a murder unit”.

“It is a very low standard to make it through the provisional hearing to tie it to the attempt,” he added. “It is not the highest standard, which is undoubtedly free in court.”

Kraut said that one of the witnesses had admitted to pursuing Bohm in a street breed that contributed to the crash.

He added that witnesses confirmed the claim of his client that he was “70 miles per hour, not 104” before the crash, and every fact he gave was confirmed.

Kraut added: “There was someone who shone her lights directly in the eye, and he had to move and that was shown on a video in which someone was moved to the median.”

The lawyer added that a “woman standing in front of him saw this light, and she moved over part of the trail and honked him, and that frightened him and that moved him in. And then the crash happened.”

“This is a terrible, terrible case for everyone – the victims, families,” he said. “It is a terrible event. And my customer's family and my client feel disturbed what happened. But the problem is that my client is responsible for the crime level that he committed and not just to be murdered.”
