Valmeyer wife who was killed in the accident south of Colombia, Illinois,

Waterloo, Ill. (First alarm 4) – A Valmeyer – woman was killed in an accident with a vehicle early Saturday south of Columbia, Illinois.

The Department of the Sheriff of Monroe County reports that the crash took place around 1:24 in the Bluff Road near Harris Lane. The MPs arrived and found a late jeep with two people.

The deputies and several spectators who came across the crash worked on providing first aid.

The 46-year-old was declared dead at the crime scene. The driver, a 53-year-old man from Valmeyer, was taken to a hospital in St. Louis and listed in a critical condition.

The Sheriff's department said that the identities were held back from the family notification. The deputies ask everyone to contact everyone with information about the crash, the investigator Jim Vogt under (618) 939-8651, extension 271.
