32 people who were injured in bus accidents near Hermann

Hermann, Mo. (first alarm 4) – Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 32 people were injured when a shuttle bus left the street and hit a ditch near Hermann in the Gasconade County on Saturday.

According to online reports, the crash occurred around 10:45 a.m. on the Highway 100 west of Eagles Nest Drive. The bus drove west when it drove from the right side of the street, was over -corrected and traveled from the left side of the street, which caused a trench, according to the report.

The driver, a 45-year-old Hermann man, was seriously injured and transported with the helicopter to the university clinic in Columbia.

In addition to the driver, three other people suffered serious injuries and were brought to local hospitals. Eleven people suffered moderate injuries and were brought to local hospitals, as did 17 people with minor injuries.

According to the report, only a passenger on the bus, a 60-year-old woman of Lee's Summit, was not injured to a certain extent.

The Highway Patrol no longer identifies people who are involved in traffic accidents.

The injured people were 27 to 68 years old and came from cities in Missouri, Illinois and Kansas. The Hermann Area volunteer fire brigade reported that a “mass accident reaction” was initiated and the first aiders were at the scene within three minutes after the call.

Numerous ambulances and the medical helicopters have contributed to bringing the wounded in medical facilities, the fire brigade said.
