2 men who were caught in the Golden Valley after escaping a fatal crash

Golden Valley, AZ (Azfamily) – Two men are in police custody after the officials said they ran away from a fatal accident in the Golden Valley north of Kingman.

In the early Friday morning, the MPs reacted to an accident with two vehicles near the Shinarump Drive and Apache Road in the Golden Valley. When firefighters arrived, they found a woman who was captured in one of the vehicles. Marian Merk, 61, was pulled out of the vehicle, but later died of her injuries.

Early information from the scene indicates that a Chevrolet pickup truck that drives to the east on the Shinarump Drive crossed the center line and hit a Hyundai SUV SUV directly. The MPs say that the truck seemed to accelerate. The men in the pickup ran from the scene before the authorities arrived.

The MPs searched for the suspects and found the passenger, 30-year-old Brandon James Tosh von Kingman, and hid under a bush in a remote area north of the crash location. He was taken into custody and booked into the Mohaven County prison for adults for various active arrest warrants.

During the examination, detectives learned that Tosh had given them wrong information. He was booked for additional criminal offenses for hindrance to prosecution.

The MPs, the 29-year-old Maximiliano Chavez Jr. von Kingman, spent an arrest warrant against the driver.

On Saturday, the MPs received a call from a concerned resident who said he was outside in his garden when a man approached him to ask for water. During her conversation, the man admitted to being involved in a traffic collision and fleeing from the scene.

When they arrived, the MPs identified the man as a chavez. During this time he supposedly told the official that he was the driver who was involved in the crash. According to reports, he said to the MP that he drank on the go all night and went over 70 miles per hour before the crash.

It was booked second degree for murder plants.
