Death examinations in the Freedom Division

Charlotte, NC – (Saturday, May 3, 2025) – Detectives with the murder unit of the police authority of Charlotte-Mecklenburg carry out a death examination in the 1100 block of the Browns Avenue in the Freedom Division.

On Saturday, May 3, 2025, shortly after 3:45 p.m., the officials answered a call for service in relation to a death examination in the 1100 block of the Browns Avenue. On arrival, the officers discovered two victims that have not reacted. Medic transported both victims to the Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, where one of the victims was died.

Detectives of the murder unit reacted to the scene to carry out an examination, and the search for the crime scene search reacted to the processing of the scene and collected physical evidence. Representatives of the Operations Command from CMPD and Medic also assisted.
