Simi Valley, approx. – A small plane with the home building Kit on Saturday afternoon in Simi Valley, California, fell two houses and caught fire, civil servants said.

An unimaginated pilot was the only resident of the VAN RV-10, which had crashed around 2:10 p.m. near the High Meadow Street and the Wood Ranch Parkway, the Federal Aviation Administration announced.

The pilot died in the accident, said Andrew Dowd, a public information officer of Ventura County, reporters at a press conference.

According to the fire brigade, around 40 firefighters were sent and the flames were brought out.

At the time of the crash, there were people in the two houses, but they were not injured, said Dowd.

Shelby Joice told ABC News that she lives on the other side of the street, from where the plane crashed. She said she and her mother looked away when they heard what went over like a helicopter.

“Suddenly we heard a big crash and our entire house started to tremble. We actually thought that something fell into our house,” said Joyce.

She said they had seen a “big, massive fireball” and black clouds of smoke.

The plane drove from William J. Fox Airfield in Lancaster and, according to FAA, drove to Camarillo Airport.

The National Transportation Safety Board will guide the examination and work with the FAA.

The Simi Valley is about 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
