Woman who was killed when shooting near the Chadbourne Drive and West Saint Clair Street

Indianapolis (wish) – A woman was killed on Saturday at a shootout on the city's west side.

On Saturday at 8:15 p.m., the officials of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reacted to the intersection of Chadbourne Drive and West Saint Claire Street about a report of a person. This is located south of the Chapel Hill shopping center in Wayne Township. Officers arrived to the scene and found an adult woman in a vehicle suffering from gunshot injuries.

The woman was originally listed in a critical condition. She was later declared dead at the crime scene.

A male person of interest was arrested within a block of the crime scene. The person of interest was tamered after he was supposedly not cooperative with officers.

The investigators said the incident began as a domestic disorder and there is currently no threat to the community.

The investigators did not immediately provide additional information.
