Six things that are to be done in Merseyside this weekend, including appearances and festivals

There is no shortage of things in Merseyside this weekend, regardless of whether you are a die-hard music fan, a film and comic buff or only for the sausages and the beer. While the city starts in the first May day holiday, a packed calendar of events offers something for everyone.

Smithdown Festival

Smithdown Festival has returned for his 10th birthday. In 2015, KEV McArthur and Andy Scott brought together six local venues – Evil Eye (now The Beeswing), Kellys Dispensary, Franks, The Willowbank, Cafe Kerouac (now Nomad) and Oomoo (now Cafe ORO) for a holiday party at the Smithdown Road, with the idea of ​​revealing the area.

The event showed a number of independent musical artists and artists.

The festival has now grown to 20 venues in its tenth year, including Black Cat, Franks, Leaf and Penny Lane Wine Bar. There are a number of places indoors and outdoors during the day and at night.

The event, which started on Friday, May 2, and lasted until Monday, May 5th, contains dozens of artists, from DJs to acoustic guitarists.

Wurst and Real Ale Festival 2025

It is a sausage festival at The Lock and Quay in Bootle this weekend when the pubs of this year's sausage and Real Ale Festival organize.

After the festival started yesterday (Friday, May 2), the festival runs until Sunday. Over 20 real ales are available together with cider and sausages. Live music is also shown.

Comic con

Celebrities from the world of film, television and comics will descend into the city this weekend. The Waterfront will be welcomed by Star Wars Royalty Hayden Christensen to the Grant Gustin des Flash as part of the Spring Con-Line-up.
