Chatham Crash today: 4 dead after the SUV stormed after the school camp in the 300 block of the Breckenridge Road in Ynot, says ISP says ISP

Chatham, Ill. (WLS) – Four people who were assumed that they are children and teenagers were killed when an SUV drove after a downstate camp after school on Monday afternoon, said Illinois State Police.

According to the ISP, the officials reacted to the ynot after the school camp in the 301 Breckenridge Road in Chatham, around 3:20 p.m., which is located south of Springfield.

“The vehicle fell through the building into the east side of the building and left outside the west side of the building,” said Scott Tartter, deputy head of the Chatham police.

ISP said four people died in the crash. It is believed that these victims are between 4 and 18 years old.

One of the late victims was in the building at the time of the crash, and the other three were outside, said ISP.

The Chatham police believe that at least six more injuries have suffered, and a helicopter took one of them to the hospital.

ISP said that the driver who was the only person in the SUV was brought to a local hospital for evaluation, but was not injured.

The Walnut Street will be closed for the traffic between Park Street and Gordon Drive until the further termination system, said ISP.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker published an explanation and said: “I am horrified and deeply sad about the death of children and numerous injuries in Chatham this afternoon. Our community lost a group of bright and innocent young people with their whole life in front of them. The parents said goodbye to their children this morning. I knew the last time it would be. My heart is difficult for these families, and the unimaginable depreciation.

The Illinois State Police has started to work with the Chatham Police Department to examine the incident and will provide the public more information if it is available. My office monitors the situation closely and is ready to support every conceivable way. We are grateful for all first aiders who support our community in this difficult time. “
