Small plane plunges into the neighborhood of the Los Angeles region and kills 1 person

Simi Valley, California (AP) – A small plane fell into a neighborhood in Simi Valley on Saturday afternoon, killed a person on board the aircraft and damaged two houses, the authorities said.

Firefighters reacted and the police pushed off the street and warned people to keep away from the area. Rauch could be seen from the roof of a house in the Wood Ranch Section of the community, which is almost 80 kilometers northwest of Los Angeles.

Wracks could be seen between the two houses. Ventura County's fire brigade confirmed that the residents were inside at the time, but said that they were evacuated without reported injuries. Both houses suffered structural damage and were affected by the fire, the authorities said.

About 40 firefighters were on site. With the flames they started working on the salvage.

The authorities did not publish any information about the pilot of the RV-10 of the one-engine van, a popular homemade plane that was sold in KIT form. You also didn't say what could have caused the crash.

An investigator of the National Transportation Safety Board was also on site on Saturday. Peter Knudson, spokesman for NTSB, said, as soon as the aircraft wreck is documented, it is moved to a secure facility for further evaluation.

The investigators will also be the maintenance records, weather forecasts of the aircraft, the records of any air traffic control, testimony, the background of the pilot and all monitoring videos that the aircraft could have recorded.

In January, another Van-Mobil-10 fell into a warehouse in Fullerton, which is southeast of Los Angeles, while trying to make an emergency landing, kill the pilot and his youthful daughter and to injure 19 people in the building. A Preliminary report created by the NTSB said the plane had a door during the flight.

It will probably take weeks for the NTSB to publish preliminary findings for the crash of Simi Valley. A final report comes months later.
