The Federal Aviation Administration said that the plane was a Vans RV-10, a one-engine single-engine that is sold in KIT form and is usually built at home.

The plane drove from William J. Fox Airfield in Lancaster and, according to the FAA, traveled to Camarillo Airport when it fell off in Simi Valley. The agency initially said that the plane had only worn the pilot, but the police said on Saturday evening that two people died as well as a dog who was on the plane.

The identity of the victims was not released.

The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. on the 200 Block of the High Meadow Street in the Wood Ranch area of Simi Valley. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will examine. NTSB will lead the examination and provide future updates.

The plane crashed in the back yard and in the Arman and Arminh Hovakemian dining room. Arman Hovakemian said he was doing gardening when he noticed the plane upstairs and circled in the neighborhood of the hill.

Fearing that the plane turned towards his house, he ran in to get his wife and Pomeranian dog coco. A loud bang followed and the fuselage landed where it stood in the courtyard, he said.

The smell of gas filled the air and the side of her house caught fire, he said, and let the couple flee when the neighbors called 911.

“I am overwhelmed,” said Arman Hovakemian and stood on the street when dozens of firefighters and police officers surrounded his home. A light rain involved the street when the neighbors watched a fire engine with a ladder over their residence.

“I'm deaf. It has not yet been inserted,” he said. “We are lucky that we could get out.”

The other part of the plane belongs to PJ van Kralingen and his wife Iris. The couple was in the Getty Center when it got a text about the crash.

Two of her three dogs somehow escaped from the house during the incident and still missed PJ van Kralingen on the street.

Nevertheless, he thanked the fact that nobody was at home at that time. The plane shattered the windows in their family room, where his wife's parents who live with the couple usually sit.

“It's a bit worrying,” he said. He said the officials told him that he could not enter the house for at least 24 hours because NTSB had to come to the website.
