The community encouraged to speak about death during the awareness week

The people in Oxfordshire are encouraged to talk about death at the beginning of May at the beginning of May.

Dying matters for the sensitization, which runs from May 5th to 11th this year, aims to speak to communities in the way that speaks to them about death.

The topic this year is “the culture of dying matters”, and Oxford Health will support the campaign by setting up stands in four of its community hospitals.

Members of the public can speak to employees on May 6th in the Wallingford Community Hospital, on May 7 in Townlands in Henley and Witney and on May 8 in Bicester from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Gabbie Parham, Senior Matrone for Community Nursing, which leads the end of life at the NHS Trust, said: “I would use an interest in the topic, for whatever reason, for one of the sessions that we stop in our community hospitals.”

The mission of dying matters is to break down the stigma and the taboo of speaking about death and dying.

It underlines the universal emotions of grief and loss that are shared by everyone, regardless of culture or faith.

According to Oxford Health, grief is a form of learning because the brain adapts to the loss of a loved one.

While everyone experiences different grief, studies have shown that the feelings of loss, helplessness and sadness are in common, regardless of race, age or religion.
