2 women injured after car fell into the house in Hicksville

Hicksville, Long Island (WABC) – Two women were injured after a quick car came into a house in the Nassau district.

An 82-year-old woman drove south with a Mercedes-Benz on the Bethpage Road when she left the street and hit the house on the West Street shortly before 4:30 p.m.

Wayne Burke says he was sitting on a red light outside the Bethpage Road when another car came past him and finally fell into a house.

“The car hit the curb, went into the air, jumped two or three times … half a soccer field and entered the house and disappeared. It was surreal,” said Burke.

There was a 56-year-old homeowner in this house

“She was sitting on the couch in the living room, yes, she has a few ruins – fortunately she was not stuck, so she could walk around, but she was caught because none of the doors could open,” said eyewitness Corrine McPartland.

The neighbors managed to get the woman out of a window.

“She was shocked, she kept saying 'my house, my house, there is a car in my house!' But we assured that they are safe and that everyone is okay, “added McPartland.

Burke said the neighbors all came outside.

“Everyone was hectic because we could all smell of gas and we tried to find a way to get into the house,” he said.

The homeowner was okay, and McPartland said she wanted to see if she could help because she was an extra charge of a nurse.

At first you could not see the driver of the car under all rubble. She was extracted from the car and taken to the hospital, where she is treated for minor injuries.

The construction department of the city of Oyster Bay reacted to the scene to inspect the residence.
