Bay Area officials warn of increasing car theft in connection with violent crimes

Criminal prosecution authorities in the Bay Area warn the public of an alarming increase in thefts that are bound with violent criminal activities.

The authorities report that thieves are now using advanced devices to avoid ignition systems in keyless entry -level vehicles so that they can steal cars, trucks and SUVs from almost any make or model without physical keys.

Stolen vehicles are increasingly being used to committing other crimes, including sideshows, smash-and-grave burglaries and other dangerous crimes, officials said.

The police recommend the residents to stay vigilant and avoid confronting suspects, and found that many participants are organized, armed and dangerous.

Anyone who is the witness of theft or suspicious activities is asked to call the police immediately and provide detailed information, including vehicle descriptions and suspicious behavior.
