A small plane fell into a quarter of Simi Valley in the afternoon of May 3, said the authorities, two people who were on the plane, and two houses who later catch fire.

The pilot, a passenger and a dog on the plane died, reported Simi Valley's police in the evening. The identity of the individuals was not reported until the next relative was notified.

According to the preliminary reports from the Ventura County fire brigade, the accident occurred at 1:51 p.m. in the 200 block of the High Meadow Street. The street cuts east from the South Wood Ranch Parkway in the Wood Ranch area.

Keith Freitas Keith Freits said that he understands that General William J. Fox Airfield in Lancaster left at 1:19 p.m. and was led to Camarillo at the airport before the crash. “We believe that it is an airplane at Camarillo Airport,” he said.

The first callers had reported that a hill was on fire together with a plane. Then firefighters came and reported a plane into a structure with smoke that indicated radio traffic.

Simi Valley Police Department Sgt. Chris Johnson said the officials found the small aircraft in the back yard of an apartment.

According to Andrew Dowd, spokesman for the fire brigade, the single -engine aircraft with a firm wing fell into two houses. Both are two -story single -family houses.

At that time the residents were in both houses and were evacuated. Nobody on the floor was injured, said Dowd. About 40 firefighters answered.

Both houses were affected by fire and persistent structural damage, said Dowd. By late afternoon, firefighters still performed overtaking and salvage operations.

The plane was so badly damaged that it was difficult to identify the wreck as a plane, said Dowd.

Police officers said the department had received a report from Point Mugu's air traffic control through a possible plane crash. The plane was not a military craft, the authorities said. It was described by the National Transportation Safety Board as Vans RV-10, which seems to be the apparently kit.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will take over the investigation, said police officers.

The police authority advised drivers to avoid the area.
