Ezekiel Owade: Another goalkeeper that is trapped in the alleged game fixation scandal

  • Match fixing has long been a significant problem in the Premier League of Football Kenya Federation (FKF)
  • The latest case is the goalkeeper Ezekiel Owade, who is now in the spotlight for the wrong reason after it has been associated with a match fixing scandal
  • This comes only two months after the former Tusker goalkeeper Patrick Matasi was named in a similar case

In the past two months, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has been a difficult challenge in dealing with match-fixing cases in which goalkeepers are involved in some of which played for top kenian clubs.

The most recent incident concerns the goalkeeper Ezekiel Owade, which was caught in a suspected game fixation scandal, only a month after the former Tusker FC shot stopper Patrick Matasi was caught in a similar case.

Matasi was involved in a likeable scandal towards the end of March of this year after a video was said to have appeared an unidentified person in which he discussed how to manipulate the result of a game.

The scandal prompted Kenya Football, FKF, Matasi to suspend for three months.

However, the goalkeeper brought the matter to court, and after his case had been negotiated, a court order was granted to him, the FKF prevented him from preventing him from participating in club activities.

Hesekiel Owade remembered in the alleged match fixing scandal

A month after Matasi's judgment, another Kenyan goalkeeper, Ezekiel Owade, now for the wrong reasons, trends now.

In a video that a sports journalist, Kevin Ole Teya shared on his X account, the former youth goalkeeper from Muhoroni, Owade, was captured in a video in which he was ready for the job over the weekend and would admit two goals at halftime to confirm that this was the agreement.

“Hello, owade here – your goalkeeper. I am ready for the job over the weekend to admit two goals in the first half. That is,” said Owade.

@Felixmotende reacts,

“We saw his face. I don't believe in punishment – I believe in liberation from stupidity and mediocrity. Before we ruin the reputation of the good league that we now enjoy if this type only goes for 6 months, it is not enough. Let it look for money elsewhere and let this be a lesson.
