IDF announces two soldiers of the Yahalom unit who have been killed in Rafah – Defense News

Two soldiers from the Yahalom unit, captain Noam Ravid and Stab Sergeant Yaly Seror, were killed in a Booby-captured building in Rafah, Gaza, the IDF announced on Sunday morning.

The 23-year-old captain Ravid came from Sha'arei Tikva in West Bank and St.-Sgt. The 20 -year -old seror was from Omer in southern Israel.

Soldiers from the Golani Brigade entered the building where the incident took place on Saturday evening in the Rafah area, where there was a tunnel shaft.

In the afternoon, Yahalom soldiers started scanning the place when an explosion suddenly appeared and ravid and seror killed.

It is not yet clear whether the soldiers entered the shaft or stood at the entrance. In the same incident, an additional soldier made of Yahalom was seriously injured.

A reservist in the 7007th battalion, the 16th Jerusalem brigade, was seriously wounded in a separate incident in the North Gaza in the fight.

IDF to increase presence and operations in Gaza

This incident will follow the IDF and will send orders for tens of thousands of reservists to enlarge the Gaza strip invasion on Sunday.

The military also said that the expansion would be in phases and signaled that it could take days or weeks for a clearer image of the strategy and the effects of the further invasion of the IDF.

The move was approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday and is expected to be officially approved by the security cabinet on Sunday.
