Prof. Makau joined the scandal school as a revolution

I will not make a hard judgment against Prof. Makau Mutua. My comrade in our youth has now joined the constantly growing landscape of President William Ruto's high -ranking advisors. I will not be motivated by his side. But I'll say that he is lost.

I was in Dar es Salaam – especially at the University of Dar es Salaam – when I saw President Rutos Social -Media -Post. He was all joy. “I have appointed Prof. Makau Mutua as Senior Advisor of Constitutional Affairs in the office of president,” commented Dr. Ruto Crowed the joys of catching this one person who swore in the public media never to work for Ruto. “No, never, nyet!” he said.

We all learn our own way. In our own pace, in our own time. A long time ago I went with Dr. Mixes Ruto. We helped him -others and me -to position the notorious Bottom -up agenda. We were the ideologues. He was our project. We thought Ruto understood poverty. He would know how to raise the arms and rise with them. We were ideological romantic idiots. We thought we would develop the development theories of Pro-People that we had taken up in the communication classes for postgraduate development skills.

It was time to get closer to Trickledown who demonized the poor because they were poor. What a golden chance of bringing things to life that we had picked up from high -ranking theorists such as Daniel Lerner, Wilbur Schramm, Ernst Schumacher, Paulo Freire and the lot. We would shape Everett Rogers and its dominant paradigm for the spread of innovations from top to bottom. Ruto was our best dribbler, our star player.

We delivered it to State House. And that was the beginning at the end of our bottom -up agenda. Either it was thrown overboard. Or he just didn't understand what he talked about during the campaigns. I personally gave up our estate within his first year of office. He clearly led a criminal unit. To his honor, Makau Mutua kept to demonize my hobnobbing with Ruto. I will be a gentleman. I will pay him back in his own coins. I will reject the idea that he has joined Ruto “to eat”. But he's wrong.

Wrong side of the story

It is banal to say: “He is eaten.” Mutua is not missing. Let me give the advantage of this doubt. He probably believes that together with other ODM -political migrants you will turn the direction of Ruto's state ship. The bad news is that you won't do it. Together with your boss Raila Odinga you are on the wrong side of the story.

The government of Kenya Kwanza is not about people and their folk fights. It's about the leaders and their wasteful appetite. They are a difficult appetite to feed and the daily reports that emerge from this room. This government is the scandal school that sleeps in the middle of a popular revolution. If you join you, you will like you. If you don't wake up and smell the coffee and run away very quickly. Prof. Makau has just signed the opprobrium manifesto.

But why do I tell you that I was in Dar es Salaam when the news broke? It is the irony of everything. First, I was in the Africa liberation center with a series of African social scientists who think about academic and intellectual freedom. Organized according to the Aegis of the Council for the development of social science research in Africa (Codesria) and reflected 25 years after the explanation of Kampala about intellectual freedom and social responsibility about the state of the art.

Dar, Africa's home of the liberation movements, is exactly the right place for this task. In the early 1980s there was Mutua and a cocktail of others who were my contemporaries at the University of Nairobi. We were young people. On the continent we believed that we had a mission to “free our nations from the chains of neocolonialism and international capitalism”. The government has not wasted time for us.

The more visible singing types were on the high street. So Mutua was found in. Another Steve Bantu Biko who suffers for his people. He retained this brand from the morning that you have left my house in Ofafa Jericho for Dar together with six others.

While the vision is still maintaining, Nairobi has stalled. And now Steve Biko has written on his X handle that he will serve, not the man, but the big brother William Ruto. He is lost, as is Raila Odinga.
