Donald Trump's actions threaten the stability of our government

Our president has ordered and his loyalists have made so many outrageous changes that threaten the stability of our government that I start to fear the future of our beloved country.

I will never forget to cross the Rio Grande River in Laredo in 1973 and see the huge American flag on the American side. It sent a thrill of pride and gratitude over my spine.

I was after and by a group of pastors and scholars on a bus trip of 10 days and of Cuernavaca, Mexico, where we studied with a well -known anthropologist. The lectures and discussions were committed, the study center was picturesque, we enjoyed the city and its kitchen.

We had been carefully instructed not to drink tap water in the hotel or elsewhere, just the water of Carafes in the room and in cafés. One day my wife and I returned to our room and saw how the cleaning employee filled our carafe out of the tap. Everyone went well until almost all of us fell an intestinal album: “Montezuma's revenge.”

God bless food safety and the FDA; God bless safe water and sanitary regulations; God bless America! I was so happy to see this flag and “the republic for which it stands”.

I started first class in the last few years of World War II and we said that the promise of loyalty to the flag every day in the first class in the meeting. It was memorized and said without much thought. But now I think a lot about it.

What does this republic stand for and what does its flag represent for? It stands for the principle indicated in the declaration of independence in 1776: the natural truths that all of the creator are equipped with the “inalienable right to life, freedom and the pursuit of happiness”. It stands for the carefully designed constitution that a government founded to secure this blessing of freedom into the coming generations.

The President of the United States Lüert a vow in his inauguration to “protect and defend the constitution” and to recognize that his laws are faithfully carried out. Our current president made this vows – twice. Each chosen official, federal official, every person in the military, every lawyer who was admitted to the legal chamber, every judge – all do this oath.

Our stability and strength as a nation is based on the assumption that those who put this oath are people of integrity, and for those who do not do this, our system of accountability will ensure the continuing stability of our republic.

We were naive. We chose the slimest majorities, a president and sparse majority of the congress representatives who ignore and violate many of our clear and long -term laws and laws in order to satisfy their greed and hunger for unreserved power.

The first change in our constitution guarantees religious freedom, but they have an office in the White House that defines a false, nationalist version of Christianity. The first change guarantees freedom of the press, but they have excluded reporters from access and threatened to invalidate the licenses of unfavorable broadcasting organizers. The first change guarantees freedom of speech and expression, but they have tried to suppress free expression in schools and universities and try to ban books from schools and libraries. These are the freedom that Americans have committed to generations.

Our president has used loyalists in all important official offices, and they have almost exceptionally confirmed their servil senators. In their hurry to rebuild our republic, they have created chaos: preventive shots of those who assumed that they have been dismissed unfaithful government agencies that were legally defined, all of which were led by bizarre ideologies and a revenge. Now we have the reason to fear the stability of our economy and the wholesome of our food and purity of our water.

The most important thing is perhaps most importantly, our president, his Ministry of Justice and his media toads try to ignore and avoid the right to proper procedure. I have never imagined that Americans or people who live here legally suddenly recorded, led into a remote facility and face a summary deportation against foreign detention. If he prevails in these attacks, this will not signal the end of our republic and our law, not humans – and our flag will be empty of its importance.
