So you can see yourself in 2025 IMSA Laguna Seca on NBC, peacocks: streaming information, start times and daily schedules

Bobby Rahal uses its BMW 8 Hybrid V8 cars that are at the head of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship race this season.

So it fits the US car racing legend on Sunday, May 11th, for the Monterey Sportscar Championship will start.

Rahal will be the large marshal for the fourth round of the IMSA season and command to start engines for two-hour, 40-minute races (3 p.m. ET, NBC and Peacock) to start the historical road course on the Montnery Peninsula.

“It is a great honor and a great privilege to be a large marshal in obviously one of my favorite tracks,” said Rahal, who made his debut by Laguna Seca in 1976 with a Formula Atlantic Race. “Here as a driver and as a owner, it was a lot of success. It is a real thrill to have part of the racetrack that are named after you. If you go to Laguna, one of the crown jewels really from American road racetracks, it was a thrill at the time, and it is still a thrill today.”

It was a quick start for the No. 24 BMW M -Team RLL M Hybrid V8, which won the Grand Touring Prototype Pole position in three consumption races with the driver Dries Vanthoor to start the 2025 season.

After the cars of Rahal have improved in a critical season in the first two years of the revised high -ranking hybirid prototype from IMSA. However, some driver, team and tactical mistakes contributed to an absence from the Vcory Lane, since the Porsche Penske Motorsport No. 7 963 swept the first three races.

“Unfortunately we couldn't put everything together,” said Rahal, who indicated that the BMW teams optimized their pit stops for Laguna Seca. “On the day of the race, we had on the track, but I injured our chances at the end of the race. When I looked at Long Beach on Long Beach, we were held a little at the box and that's all it needed, I'm afraid.

No. 7 963 won the first three IMSA races this year.

“So, hopefully we have to do the job this time. We were pretty quick there last year, so we have a reasonable chance. … We learned more about the car this year. The Laguna route, especially since you repeated it (2023), is a bit in our steering house.”

There is a feeling of urgency for Rahal, whose sports car teams have operated BMWS in GT and prototype classes since 2008. It is a contract year for RLL with the German manufacturer, and several branches have reported that this has reported this BMW has considered options with other teams for 2026.

I do not want to go into the details, but we obviously hope to continue this long relationship that we had to BMW, which returned to 2008, “said Rahal. For us and BMW Motorsport it is the same.

With a win in France, Porsche Penske Motorsport -Star was able to earn history and a career jumping board.

“We win some races, and that solves many problems. So we intend to do that.”

However, the competition is very stiff in the top class of IMSA, which includes 11 entries and five manufacturers at Laguna Seca. Acura, Cadillac and Aston Martin will fight against the unbeaten Porsche against BMW.

“Volumes talk about IMSA The number of manufacturers involved in all classes,” said Rahal. “It is phenomenal how many of all types are involved in sports car races and IMSA today compared to previous years. And the complexity of these cars may be more complex than a car -1 car in a way. It is only at a different level.

“I think the GTP category, but IMSA as a whole is currently only in a phenomenal place, and we may have never seen anything like this.”
