The undisputed junior champion in spring weight Naoya Inoue is one of the Must Watch Stars from Boxing. Inoue returns to the ring on Sunday to defend his four world titles against Ramon Cardenas. The fight takes place in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and is the first fight in the United States since 2021.

Inoue's 2025 campaign 2025 had a somewhat disappointing start when a planned January fight with Sam Goodman fell apart after Goodman withdrew, which led to Inoue faced with an unannounced opponent of late replacement. As expected, Inoue ran through in less than four rounds, but it was not the degree of challenge fans who wanted to see Inoue face.

In Cardenas, Inoue is faced with a more legitimate opponent than Kim, but one who has not fought near Inoues level. Cardenas has developed in recent years as a candidate for Rafael Pedroza, Israel Picazo and most recently Bryan Acosta.

Inoue will be expected to blown through an opponent again. He has 26 Knockouts in 29 career fights, and the chances say that on Saturday he will record the Knockout 27 (Inoue to win through knockout: -835).

The hope for many is that Inoue rolls through Cardenas before a fight in September fights with the mandatory opponent Murodjon Akhmadaliev, probably in Saudi Arabia. A fight with Akhmadaliev is one that many wanted to see because it could be the most difficult challenge in the division for inoue.

Let's be honest, Inoue is a favorite -10000. There is not much doubt about who will win on Sunday. Cardas' win would improve the boxing world. The real problem for Cardenas is that he is not a big puncher. To beat inoue would almost certainly catch it clean with a big shot because Inoue is such a good boxer that goes beyond its elite punch.

The question arises how far Cardenas can make it in combat. The chances say that the struggle will not go out (-715), but Cardenas has only lost once and it was not from Knockout.
