After a regular season with 72 games, the Playoffs 2025 finally arrived, where 23 out of 32 square meters won the largest price in the AHL.

In the first round there are seven series that are decided in a best-of-3 format. Each game has a particularly pressure of the pressure because a team can quickly see its season at the end of the season after just two games.

Every division champion has this first round that ideally gain an advantage in the playoffs, but no matter where every team ends up in the 23, everything can happen in the Calder Cup.

Why is it called Calder Cup?

  • The Calder Cup is named after the first NHL President Frank Calder, who played a massive role in the later foundation of the AHL.

How does the AHL playoff format work?

  • All teams playing in the first round are in a best series.
  • The divisions semi -finals and the final are then decided in the best of five.
  • After all, the final of the conference and the Calder Cup will be the best of seven.
