The video shows that Detroit Lions received a trade call in the 1st round

The NFL design of Detroit Lions 2025 could have gone a million different options than it and it started in the first round. On Thursday evening, the Lions stayed patient and held in their original 28th overall selection and selection of the defensive tackle Tyleik Williams in Ohio.

But a video of the Philadelphia Eagles -“96 hours in the Eagles design room” -that the Lions had the opportunity to return four places for the last election of the night.

The General Manager of Eagles, Howie Roseman, felt a little eager on the 1st day. When Roseman called the 22nd election and called as many teams as possible about a potential trade. With Alabama Linebacker Jihaad Campbell, Roseman surprisingly wanted to put on the board that he was an eagle.

Finally, Roseman calls the lions and we can only hear Philly's side of the conversation.

“Any interest in withdrawing?” Said Roseman.

After receiving Holmes' answer, Roseman said on the phone: “This is fair. I appreciate honesty.”

After he was hung up, he turned into the war area and said: “Detroit, I just spoke. They said no.”

This message is not really surprised. After day 1 of the NFL design, Holmes admitted that they had received a few calls, and one in particular was tempting.

“I got a few calls when it came to our choice,” said Holmes. “I just didn't feel good, just how it was particularly thinned out for us. This is the fascination of the NFL, isn't it? There are 31 other different boards, and you have no idea. You can do all research in advance and all the stuff, but at the end of the day you really don't know.

“We thought about it. There was a tempting, but we only had the feeling that with the depth of this group exactly there and how the board fell out, it was the feeling that it was the most responsible to stay.”

It is clear that the Lions Williams, as one of the last remaining players in this level, considered and did not want to risk losing him. Williams himself revealed that the Buffalo Bills – who had the 30th overall election – were very interested in him.

“Somehow they told me that when I was there, they wanted me,” said Williams. “I had conversations with the head coach D-line-trainer-she said that they had loved my game and how I played. But it was definitely a way.”

If Detroit had made this trade with the Eagles, it would be very possible that they would not have had a chance of Williams.

In the meantime, the Eagles had pretty happy. While most of their trade tests were rejected, Campbell continued. And when the chiefs were on the clock at 31 o'clock, the Eagles were able to put this trade – only one place – on the market to use the Crimson Tide Linebacker.

You can watch the entire video here. The short conversation with Holmes is around 5:20 mark.
