A small plane crashed into two houses by Simi Valley on Saturday afternoon, the authorities said. The residents evacuated intact, but an inmate on board the aircraft is considered dead.

Shortly before 2 p.m., the small aircraft crashed in the 200 Block of the High Meadows Street, said the spokeswoman for Simi Valley Police Department SGT. Chris Johnson.

A resident said RMG News that he saw the plane from South from the south over the top of the Wood Ranch Parkway. “Fly very low and irregular”. He said two minutes passed before he heard the plane to crash.

Two houses were damaged, the fire department of Ventura County said in a social media post.

About 40 firefighters reacted to the crash. In the social media post, the fire brigade said that the firefighters had put the fire out of the crash and worked on cleaning up the scene.

The residents were in both houses at the time of the plane crash and were evacuated without injuries, according to VCFD.

“Preliminary reports indicate a death on the plane,” said VCFD on social media.

In a video published by ABC7, firefighters are on the damaged roof of a house. Among them is a courtyard with scattered tables, chairs and other objects. At least two trees can be seen uprooted.

The authorities have not published any information about the number of people on the plane or their condition.

The cause of the plane crash is not yet known and is examined by the national transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
