Yankees give the creepy “pop” update about Anthony Volpe injury.

First came a pop, then a day was released.

But the Yankees hope that the injured list will not come next for Anthony Volpe, who woke up on Sunday with “pain” and a “cranky” left shoulder after injuring her on a diving agent, but what Aaron Boone described as “good news” in an MRI and X-Rays.

“He's sore today, but we are probably feeling in a good place,” said Boone on Sunday morning. “We'll see. At the moment every day.

“I would say overall, encouraging news.”

Boone expected Volpe to hit the cage on Sunday to test his shoulder strength. In the meantime, Oswald Peraza replaced him in the line -up in Shortstop for the final on Sunday against the Rays.

Boone stated that the MRI in Volpes shoulder showed some “older things”, but nothing new that required an immediate placement on the IL.

“Hopefully we are good, but we will definitely want to see how today and what the next few days are,” said Boone.

Volpe had started all 33 games of the Yankees this season before Sunday. He started 158 out of 162 games last season and 150 in his rookie campaign in 2023
