Shocking pictures have turned out to be a man who is brought to death in front of his friends by a pack of polar bears. The shattering final moments of the discoverer Darryl Kaunak told about his friends who were eaten alive by a female polar bear when trying to protect their boys.

Some of the Nanavut hunters, Kaunak and his friends took a tea break when the pack of wild animals approached their warehouse. Leo Ijjangiaq, Laurent Junior Uttak and Darryl Kaunak, had Naujaat, a community of about 1,080 on the banks of Hudson Bay, left the boat two days earlier to hunt Carbou and Narwhal.

In an interview with CBC News, Ijjangiaq remembered: “I got out of the tent. I fired my rifle in the air to shout away the bear.” He informed how the mother brought in Uttak's head and then hunted Kaunak, who ran away, and turned him down. Ijjangiaq said he shot the bear with his rifle, but he had jammed.

The hunter then got another rifle and managed to shoot and kill the animal, and also shot the boy, but it was too late for Kaunak. However, his friends tried to provide medical help, but found that he was dead, so Ijjangiaq and Uttak covered his remains in a tarpaulin.

They were then stranded in Lyon Inlet when their boat had mechanical difficulties and let ice flow, which prevented a return to the open water. However, it became dangerous for the remaining hunters when they cried with their friends with their friends when they expected to be saved – while several other bears circled their camp.

Ijjangiaq continued: “More bears approached us. I told my friend that I would take all criminal responsibility for every bear we kill” when he said he killed the bears that surround them.

Ijjangiaq and Uttak protected themselves in the cabin of their boat until they were discovered by a search helicopter from the Icebreaker CCGS Louis ST-Laurent. They refused to leave Kaunak's remains behind because three men transported to the helicopter.

In the end, the four polar bears were killed and Kaunak's death is the second fatal ice bear attack in Nunavut. The first was in summer 2018 after Aaron Gibbons had lost his life from Arviat when he heroically protected his family from the attack of an polar bear. He was unarmed at the time.

A video of the history of the hunter has reappeared on YouTube, but it has received a mixed reaction of spectators. A YouTube user commented: “So sad because the bear didn't even knew that he was there. She protected her young animal from a threat from what she saw as a threat. And the Cub was looking for protection. False place, wrong time for all.”

While another wrote: “Riprell. These men did what they had to do to survive. All bear lovers … would you only give yourself the bear?
