In Illinois 5 cars, 4 people have taken to the hospital, say officials

A crash with five cars left four people in the northwest of Suburban Mchenry County on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Huntley Fire Protection District, the crash occurred at the intersection of Route 47 and Foster Road.

What we know:

The crews answered around 4:30 p.m. to find the multi-car crash.

Two of the cars collided head -on, and two people were caught in one of them. Firefighters came to them and were able to treat them on site.

A total of 10 people were involved in the crash.

One was taken to the Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital and then brought to the Hospital condell due to their injuries via the helicopter.

Another patient was brought to the northwest Huntley in a serious state.

Two patients agreed with minor injuries in Elgin in Elgin.

Six patients were released from paramedics into their own care, officials said.

Several other fire brigade agencies helped the reaction, including Woodstock, Algonquin, Carpentersville and Rutland Dundee.

What we don't know:

The Sheriff of the Mchenry County examines the crash.

It was unclear what caused the crash.
