Highlights “Saturday Night Live”: Quinta Brunson

“SNL 50” is approaching the end, with only two more episodes in this season, but that doesn't mean that it is time to reject things. For her second round in Studio 8h, Quinta Brunson pumped the volume and started the show with a musical monologue in which both pop star Sabrina Carpenter and basketball phenoma Dwayne Wade performed, and then filled out every sketch with energy and dynamics. Not everything ended up perfectly, since the writing of many living parts felt that the employees were only going through the movements, but Brunson's ability to commit to every role and work seamlessly from the occupation, more than that bet again.

It has been a while that a “Saturday evening” monologue really emerged, especially this season, in which so many return hosts do an attitude. Brunson's singing may not be quite at the level with Carpenter, but her enthusiasm and her stage presence have brought the whole piece together.

After starting her career who made the Buzzfeed videos and “A Black Lady Sketch Show”, it is clear that Brunson's comedy skills are best suited for the prepared format (although her talent for live work should not be recognized). One of the best prepared moments of the last night (and throughout the season) saw Brunson an older look with the longest actor of the show, Kenan Thompson. Together they play an aging couple who informs their children about their new secondary employment, which is basically a version of only fans, but only for seniors. If you consider that Brunson mainly had to keep “Abbott Elementary” clean, it was a pleasure to see her so blue with her comedy and have so much fun doing it.

Another prepared moment when a good amount of giggles brought in was a faux-ad for a new clothing brand called “Forever 31” (in contrast to the real life forever 21). Since most of the line -up shifted to the early 1930s, it was the perfect opportunity to underline the changes to the presentation/styling if they continued from their rough 20s. The exhibited looks were too familiar and made the joke so funnier for his feeling of radical honesty.

We love a few “SNL” Besties and Sarah Sherman and Bowen Yang could simply surpass the list. Although they don't always end up in a sketch, they are usually not seen in the goodnights of every show. If you can play each other, as it did last night during the weekend update, it is usually always a sight to see. Sherman and Yang played in front of Skeezy from New Jersey or Long Island and worked out like a finely coordinated orchestra, praise the chain restaurant Applees and complained about his latest bankruptcy. Come for the shared fish arch drink and questionable braids and stabbes. Stay to kiss inevitably.
