2 Cousins, 17 and 18, to death in Brawl about Tandoori Rotis in Amethi | Lucknow News

Lucknow: What would have been a night full of joy, festival and family celebration in a tragedy in Amethi, in which a dispute over a few tandoori -rotis played at a wedding festival in the lynke of two young cousins. The victims, Ashish (17) and Ravi alias Kallu (18), were killed by a group of men – many of the guests – which began as a small argument on the grocery.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday in the village of Sarai Hriday Shah below the borders of the Gauriganj police station, just eight kilometers from the district headquarters. The police registered a FIR on Sunday and recorded five defendants for murder on the two cousins. The police said that Ashish and Ravi were waiting at the tandoor switch at around 11:45 p.m. and hoped to grab a few Rotis. The police said that Ashish and Ravi had left the event location with friends Suraj and Satyam on motorcycles. But the same group of men – now armed with iron bars, hockey sticks and Lathis – follows them. At 1 a.m., the attackers intercepted the boys near Pathak Ka Purwa. Suraj and Satyam managed to flee on foot, but Ashish and Ravi were not so lucky.
The attackers smashed their bikes, rained blows with weapons and fists and left them bleeding and passed out. Passers -by discovered them and informed the police. The two were first taken to the Amethi district hospital, then to Aiims Rae Bareli and later to the Medical University of King George in Lucknow due to the severity of their injuries. Ashish died on the way. Ravi died shortly after arrival, said Amethi additional Sparendra Kumar.
Shiv Bahadur, father of Ashish and a private sector employee in Delhi, said: “My son was participated in a wedding. He never came back. The victims were both students, full of life and promise. And all of this because of some rotis?” Another relative said: “How fragile are our minds?”
Based on the complaint of Shiv Bahadur, a FIRIGanj was submitted to 13 people at the Gauriganj police station, including eight named and five unexected suspects for murder and turmoil. Asp Harendra Kumar confirmed that three of the defendants mentioned were arrested and questioned. Raids are in progress to find the remaining suspects.
