Two dead, a dog that was killed in a California quarter after the plane crash

Simi Valley, California (NBC, Kyma/Kecy) – Two people and a dog were killed after a single motor plane in the Simi Valley had fallen on Saturday afternoon.

The plane slam in two houses on the ground and forced part of the neighborhood to evacuate.

A ring camera captured the fiery explosion from the individual engine aircraft, which hit two houses in the High Meadow Street near the Wood Ranch Parkway in the Simi Valley on Saturday afternoon.

“I tried to extinguish the fire on the plane, but it exploded and I was able to smell a lot of fuel and gas, so I left the area,” said Arman Hakakian, a home owner of Simi Valley.

Hakakian was in his back yard when the plane collapsed, and hit both his house and his neighbor and caused extensive fire and structural damage. He remembers that he was worried when he saw the aircraft approaching his neighborhood.

The Simi Valley Police Department (SVPD) said the pilot that a passenger and a dog died in the crash. There were no survivors on board.

“The scene as they would imagine because it is a plane crash that have the effects of the high speed there, the scene is very chaotic, many debris,” said Casey Nicholson, public information officer at SVPD.

The level is described as Vans RV-10, which is a kind of kit level.

According to the FAA, William J. Fox Airfield's plane started in Lancaster and drove to Camarillo Airport.

An NBC partner in Los Angeles received the flight safety recordings with the pilot. It was recorded at 1:49 p.m. and was the last radio contact made with the pilot.

After several attempts to reach the pilot, the plane went under shortly after around 1:51 p.m.

The NTSB will examine the recordings with the air traffic control together with the weather forecasts at the time of the accident and all surveillance materials of the crash. It could take up to two years for the final report to be completed.
