Duncansville – A small collision had two buses with students from Hollidaysburg Area District stranded for over an hour when the district found an alternative bus on Monday afternoon.

According to the deputy superintendent Tracy Boone, a vehicle hit the rear bumper of two buses that drove home to senior and junior high students from school when the buses along the Plank Road to Vive Collision in Duncansville drove south.

No students or employees suffered injuries during the collision, but according to Jennifer McConnell, the deputy director of Junior High, the status of the striking driver and her vehicle was unknown from 4:30 p.m.

The Collison left plastic waste from the vehicle involved through both lanes of the Plank Road and a small dent in the back bumper of the right bus.

Members of the fire brigade of Allegheny Township, the Hollidaysburg police and the state police of Pennsylvania arrived at the scene shortly after the collision to assess the situation and direct traffic, since both lanes from Plank Road to the south were temporarily blocked by the buses.

McConnell was on site to coordinate the handover of the students to their parents and bring the remaining children to a new bus to bring them home.

She said that both buses were “okay” from the collision and that no delays or disorders from the student bus service were expected on Tuesday.
