ESPN Drops Highlights from 2026 Purdue Basketball Leuke Ertel commit

When it comes to recruitment at high school level, Purdue fans have accepted a new hashtag that confirms their belief in coach Matt Painter. When mentioning future boiler maker and 2026, the expression “i'mma trust paint” applies.

Erteel, currently the only commit in Purdues Recruiting course 2026, was presented on the weekend at the social media account by Sportscenter Next. Highlights came when the 6-foot 1 guard played for Indiana Elite (Aau) on the weekend.

In a game, Erteel scored 22 points, scored four rebounds and achieved three assists in a win against Team Loaded.

Erletel is a four-star recruit, according to the 247sports composite rankings. He is listed as No. 2 from Indiana, Combo -Guard No. 8 and as No. 110 in the class. He undertook Purdue in August 2024.

The Ertel from Fortville, Indiana, is an outstanding junior campaign at the high school level. He achieved an average of 22.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game on Mount Vernon High School. The Marauders ended the season with a 21:6 record and reached the semi-act of the Ihsaa Jungs basketball tournament.

Erteel was appointed “Supreme 15” of the state of the state for the 2024-25 season and was also an all-star selection of Indiana Junior. He will probably be the top candidates for Indiana Mr. Basketball in 2026.

Painter did an excellent job to identify talents on the recruitment front, especially when it comes to the latest Purdue players like Carsen Edwards, Zach Edey, Braden Smith, CJ Cox and others. It looks like Erteel has the potential to be another perfect fit in Purdues culture and system in West Lafayette.
