Akron Police Report withdrawal of crime at the beginning of the year

Akron, Ohio – The Akron Police Department reported a crime in the first quarter of the year until March 2025.

The department announced that large crime categories recorded a decline compared to the same period of 2024.

“These improvements reflect the tireless work of our civil servants and detectives, the cooperation with the administration of Mayor Malik and our community partners, cooperation with the residents and an increased commitment of the community,” said the department in a Facebook post. “We are still obliged to reduce violent crimes, increase public security and ensure that every resident feels safe in his neighborhood.”

There were 30,680 views for the quarter for the quarter, a decrease of 7%.

The department also said that it recovered 149 firearms. In the event of real estate crimes, the slump recorded an increase of 1%, but car theft recorded a decrease of 28%, and the break and entry took back 7%. Robberies also recorded a decrease of 39%.

The Akron police recorded a 50% decline in murders and fell from four to two to two in 2025. The department also recorded a decline in the overdose death by 58.62%.

There was a decline of 27%for the use of violent incidents. The department stated that it uses about all 487 calls. So far, 63 violent calls with seven complaints have been used this year.
