Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix Live Updates: Results, Highlights from Race

Miami Gardens, Fla. -The stage is for another exciting Formula -1 -Grand Prix.

The new father Max Verstappen from Red Bull started on Pole and showed no signs of slowdown after he and partner Kelly Piquet greeted the daughter Lily this weekend.

McLaren's Lando Norris started in second place after winning the sprint race the day before, while his team -mate Oscar Piatri – the leader in the driver's route in front of Norris and Verstappen – won fourth place.

Mercedes '18-year-old rookie Kimi Antonelli started in third place after winning the youngest driver, the Pole won for every racing formation when he won the pole position for the sprint despite the 10th place.

Miami Grand Prix's fourth annual race is the first of three F1 races in the United States this year. The organizers of Miami Race won the award for the promoter of the year last year, while F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicalli said this weekend that Miami was “the best partner we have in sports”.

“I like to come to Miami. It's a crazy race,” said Mercedes' George Russell, who started fifth in the beginning of this week.

Added Pierre Gasly, who began 18th place for Alpine: “It is one of these races – you want Sunday to run well so that you have a good reason to celebrate on Sunday evening.”

When a weather system approached the route, Max Verstappen saw his leadership disappear when both McLaren drivers passed the four-time defending champion to take control of the 2025 Grand Prix from Miami.

It didn't take long for Piatri to take the race, but Verstappen and Norris knocked on second place several times before the Red Bull Pilot agreed.

In the meantime, the incoming rain seemed to increase the head on weather radars. Wet weather would certainly spice up the race, which was approaching his half.

Max Verstappen had the lead in the Miami Grand Prix 2025 despite a close call between the four -time defending champion and Lando Norris, who started in second place.

At the beginning, Norris was behind Verstappen until the polesitter was locked up in curve. The lack of traction of Verstappen made it possible to place his McLaren firmly when the cars approached curve. The incident between Verstappen and Norris was found by the Race Stewards. The two had earlier runs this season.

Laura Mueller works for the Haas F1 team and is F1S first racing engineer. There are 20 racing engineers on the net, one for every driver. They are the main connection between the driver and the team who work on the route through radio communication and prepare for the next race. They usually stay in their positions longer than an F1 driver on their seat.

Mueller was brought into position this season and is combined with Haas newcomer Esteban Ocon. Mueller had previously worked as a performance engineer at Haas, while Ocon, a Hungarian Grand Prix winner in 2021, came to the American team after five seasons with the Alpine F1 team. Haas has been the ultimate outsider outfit since its entry into the network in 2016. It was fifth this season, but it only managed to achieve this result (2018). The lonely American team until Cadillac will come to the power grid next season.

“It was great to work with Laura,” said Ocon in a recent appearance in F1 Beyond The Grid Podcast. “She is really a great engineer. She has a lot of experience in many different categories.

“It's great to work with her. The number of hours in which she is used is very, very impressive. It doesn't count hours.”
