Woman killed in a 3-vehicle accident with us 49 near Collins

Covington, Miss. (WDAM) – A woman from Alabama was killed on Sunday when her car was hit by an 18 wheels from behind while she was stopped on us in a red light 49

Chris Dequila, the corner of Covington County, said on Sunday afternoon that the woman who drove a Toyota Camry to the north was attached to us at the intersection, which leads to the ORA community.

Dequila said her vehicle was then hit from behind and pulled under the tractor trailer before he was forced and sent to a van to the west at the intersection.

Dequila said the woman was declared dead at the crime scene.

The driver of the van was also injured and brought to Covington County Hospital with non -life -threatening injuries.

Dequila said that the driver of the 18-wheeler was detained by the Collins police department.

The accident occurred on Sunday at 12:04 p.m., said Diquila.

The woman's name was not published until the notification of the next relatives.
