Scottie Scheffler ties PGA Tour 72-hole evaluation record for the CJ Cup victory

McKinney, Texas-Scottie Scheffler agreed on Sunday with the 72-hole record of the PGA Tour.

The top player who, with a 63-year-old place at 31 under Par Castle, tied the brand defined by Justin Thomas 2017 Sony Open and reached Ludvig Åberg at the RSM Classic six years later.

Scheffler was able to break the record in front of a flowing chip that was bogey on the Par-3-17. Hole and a par from a Greenside bunker led on the Par-5 closing hole. His 8-foot putt for Birdie and the solo plate slipped on the left side of the hole.

Hideki Matsuyama has the lowest score in relation to Par, 35 under the Par-73 plantation course in Kapalua this season.

Scheffler tied the 54-hole-Nelson record with a lead of eight shots, and in the last round nobody came closer than six. Erik van Rooyen from South Africa reached Schefflers 63 and ends with 23 under, three shots in front of Sam Stevens and four in front of another favorite in the hometown, Jordan Spieth.

Scheffler and Spieth ended the two lowest rounds of the tournament. Scheffler opened about 30 miles north of Dallas on Thursday with a 10-below 61 on the defenseless Par-71 TPC Craig Ranch in a suburban community.

Spieth scored 62 in the last round and took fourth place and watched how his friend and colleague from Texas Alaun won the first of the two that the event won that they both appreciate.

It was the first victory for Scheffler this year after he had won a total of ten times before May in the past three years, including two championship victories. The 28-year-old inhabitant of Dallas has 14 career victories.

Scheffler's former best Nelson -Finish was a draw for fifth two years ago. He missed last year's event for the birth of his first child. He weighed his year-long son Bennett after being the first wire-to-wire-Nelson winner since Tom Watson 45 years ago.

Scheffler smashed the previous Nelson value of 259 by Steven Bowditch in 2015. This tournament was played at the TPC Four Seasons. Usually a par 70 had a par-69 layout in this course on the last three days when heavy rain forced the officials to convert a par 4 into a par 3. Bowditch ended 18 under.

Scheffler's Siegesmarg was the second largest in Nelson behind Sam Snead's 10-shot victory in 1957 when he was known as The Dallas Open Invitational.

Due to the heavy rain on Wednesday and Friday, the players were allowed to lift, clean and replace their golf balls in the first three rounds in the last round.

Aberg had so -called preferred lies in the first rounds in the 2023 RSM Classic. The weather on Sunday in Nelson was perfect, with heights in the mid -1970s and little wind.
