Mass shootout from Houston Mayfair in the region: 1 killed, 15 injured

One person has died and 15 others are injured after they were gathered by a family in the 6000 block of the Cherryhill Avenue in Southeast -Houston.

Houston's police officers say that the shootout was reported on Sunday at 12:40 p.m.

The investigators believe that an uninvited guest has appeared until the meeting and was asked to go. The police say when the uninvited guest went, this person began to shoot. Shots were returned by other guests at the meeting.

In an update on Sunday evening, the police confirmed that 16 people had been shot.

An 18-year-old was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound, but he was later died.

At least 15 other people were also brought to hospitals for their injuries. The police say the age range for these victims is between 16 and 40 years.
