Augusta Gathering becomes fatal: one killed

A celebration on Sunday evening in Augusta became tragic when shots broke out at a large, rised meeting and had injured one person and two more.

The incident occurred after darkness in reserve and ride Water Sports on the 105 Riverfront Drive. According to Stab chief Lewis Blanchard, the meeting had NO Official permission for the company, despite the advertising material in circulation online.

An online flyer advertised the event as family-friendly Pre-Cinco de Mayo celebrationOrganized by an organization called Stunt Sunday Augusta. The activities listed included Jet -Ski rentals, food trucks and vehicle exhibitions with sellers and tent fees between 25 and 50 US dollars. The event should end until 10 p.m.

An online flyer and a Facebook page offer more information about the event and the location of the fatal meeting and shooting on Sunday evening.

According to the authorities, the shootout drew several Sheriff MPs and the County Coroner at 8:30 p.m. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released while the two injured victims were taken to a local hospital.

The Sheriff's office in Richmond County examines and encourages everyone to report with information or video recordings. Tips can be submitted to the Criminal Investigation department under number 706-821-1020 or sent anonymously by email to pio@augustaga.gov.
